NAMI Wood County To support, educate, and advocate for individuals affected by mental illness in Wood County.

NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is a volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)3 grassroots national organization, founded in 1979. NAMI is comprised of family, friends and consumers affected by an emotional/mental/ neurobiological brain disorder. These disorders can profoundly disrupt a person’s ability to think, feel and relate to others, which can result in diminished capacity for coping with ordinary demands on life. NAMI Wood County is your local contact agency providing compassion, hope, education, coping skills and advocacy to families, friends and those with neurobiological brain disorders.

The On Campus NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a peer-led support group designed for young adults living with mental illness. It provides respect, understanding, encouragement, and hope in an environment where you can share your experiences, learn from others, and find strength in the collective journey. We’re excited to announce our upcoming Nite-Out with NAMI events and can’t wait to spend these creative and relaxing evenings with you.

Join us on Tuesday, April 14 from 4–6 PM, get creative as we turn recyclable items into beautiful mosaic art to take home.

Join us on Tuesday, May 5 from 1-2 PM, get comfortable as we learn how to shape wool fibers into a canvas bag you can take home.

Bring your favorite pet photo and join us for a fun, creative evening at Cookies & Canvas: Pet Portraits on Thursday, April 30th from 6:00–8:00 PM at the NAMI Wood County Office.

You’ll receive friendly guidance as you turn your pet’s unique features into a canvas masterpiece. Children ages 7+ are welcome. Cost is $35 for 1 adult and 1 child, plus an additional $10 for a second child to participate. Please note there must be at least one adult in attendance for every two children.
