April 30 is National Adopt A Shelter Pet Day, a day that is near and dear to our hearts here at Lucky Dog Yoga! After all, Molly the border collie—featured in our logo—was a shelter pet not once, but twice.
Molly follows in the paw-steps of 3 previous shelter dogs and 2 shelter rabbits that Angie has adopted, stretching back to her days as a graduate student at the University of Kansas. She has also been lucky to adopt 6 dogs and 1 rabbit outright, along with a guinea pig, a hamster, and a couple of fish. And she’s lost track of the number of shelter dogs she and Brian fostered before they were able to move on to a rescue or their adoptive homes.
We deeply appreciate all the dedicated shelter staff who care for pets of all species and who work tirelessly to find them new homes.
Have you adopted a shelter pet? We’d love to see a photo of them and hear their story!
Or, if you’re looking to add a pet to your family, please visit our friends at Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society, former home of our first shelter dog (Johnson), or Simpson County KY Animal Shelter (former 2x home of Molly).
