This year's theme for the Holiday Parade was Holiday's through the Decades. "Brookdale Presents Holiday Movies Through the Decades" was the name of our float. We represented a movie from each decade starting in the 1950s. It is a lot of work but also a lot of fun to represent Brookdale in the Holiday Parade each year.

SAVE THE DATE! On Tuesday, December 2nd, a variety of wreaths, door hangings and themed gift baskets will be on display from noon to 6 p.m. The State Bank GIVES truck will be there, featuring the famous Sue Shank cookies available for a donation. They will match all donations for the Alzheimer's Association®.

We will be hosting a holiday party with drinks and snacks from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Don't miss your chance to snag some beautiful holiday decor or gifts, support the Alzheimer's Association® and share some holiday cheer with us!

We were honored once again to be part of the clinical rotation for the BGSU nursing program. Each semester the 1st year students spend one day a week with us. They learn how to find information in their charts, how to take vitals, listen to their lungs, bowels, bladder. They get the opportunity to talk and learn about each resident as well. We truly enjoy being part of this program and being the first step towards their career.

We enjoyed lunch today at Frisch's Big Boy, probably one of the oldest restaurants in town. The food was delicious and plentiful. We were never for lack of conversation or laughs. The sun was shining too, so it made for a great afternoon.

Happy Veterans Day to all! In observance of this day we displayed our Missing Man memorial table during our Veteran's Chili dinner last night. Then today the veterans were treated to a special lunch from Sunset bistro. They were able to have any meal of their choice. They enjoyed their meals and reminisced together. Thank you Sunset Bistro for helping us celebrate our veterans.

We had our annual Trick or Treat Event at Brookdale. This year's theme was Moana! Residents sat outside their apartments and passed candy to all the children, some residents even joined in on the costume fun. We had a make and take sand art project for the trick or treaters as well. Thank you to all who came and made this year's event such a success.

Children's Wonderland came for a visit. They came in their Halloween costumes, and it was great seeing everyone dressed up. They played some games and did some crafts with us. We also shared a sweet treat with them. The children always bring a smile to everyone's faces. Thank you again, Children's Wonderland for coming for a visit.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds to find a cure for Alzheimer's and other forms of Dementia. We are super proud to have participated this year in not only the walk itself but also raising funds for it.
