We would like to send a big thank-you out to everyone that helped make our car show a success and help raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. We had so much fun dancing to the music, eating and checking out the cars. Each car came with a unique story, and we truly appreciate everyone that brought a car. Thanks again!

We had Magnificent Madeline and Clever Clarissa perform some magic tricks for us. They made balls disappear, pennies shrink, turned a penny into a dime, and performed lots of card tricks. They were great entertainers, and we loved having them show us their magic. Thanks for the laughs!

We enjoyed our trip on the Grand Rapids Canal. The weather was perfect, and we learned a lot about how things worked in the 1800s. The volunteers who put on the performance made it very entertaining. Definitely something everyone should check out if they haven't already.

It was a beautiful day to pick some flowers. Thank you to Emily from White Barn Flower Farm just outside of Bowling Green for always being a gracious host. We came home with some beautiful flowers that we then arranged into our own flower vases for everyone to enjoy.

Senior Day at the Wood County Fair was a hot one but an enjoyable one. Brookdale sponsored the coffee and donuts in the morning. Residents checked out some of the flowers and quilts, listened to the band play, danced, and ate lunch. We were also entertained by a live statue and a man on stilts. There's never a dull moment at the Wood County Fair.

We had the best time at Bowling Green City Parks Summer Concert Series. Spitting Image are twin brothers who have been singing together for 53 years. They sing, dance, make jokes and interact with the crowd. We were singing, dancing and having a great time. We all agreed it was the best afternoon.

We have teamed up with Heather from Eden Rose Inspirations, here in Bowling Green, for our fresh flowers. She brings us fresh flowers every 2 weeks for our Dining Room tables. She brings an array of colors each time and also gives us tips on the best way to display and care for them. She also does many of our bouquets for special events. If you like to shop local, we would suggest checking her out.

Sue has lived at Brookdale for 12 years. She is our longest current resident. Sue says the feeling of being safe and not having to worry about getting things done are part of the reasons she has lived here for so long. It's made her realize to just slow down. Sue likes being able to go on outings, listen to presentations from Mike at the historical museum, and do many of the crafts Michelle plans. She loves working on puzzles and doing diamond art and painting, all at her own pace. Sue was treated with some flowers and chocolate-covered strawberries.

Every year we take a men's group to Snook's Car Museum in Bowling Green. Just like before, it did not disappoint. A few of them saw cars that they once had or even wished they had. One gentleman spent the time reminiscing about the gas station that his father and uncles ran. He really enjoyed seeing the old cash register and credit card machine as well. If you have never checked our Snook's, you should!

Brookdale sponsored the Picnic at the Park on Friday with Ragtime Rick. Residents enjoyed the music, and some were even caught dancing. They also loved the fresh watermelon our dining staff provided for us. It was a beautiful day for a picnic in the park.

We had a visit to Steven's Garden's Monclova today. We picked strawberries, fed the animals and had treat. We even found some beautiful hanging baskets to display at Brookdale. Everyone had a good time and can't wait to go again. A big thank you to Steven's Garden's for being so accommodating for us today.
