We are happy to announce that NAMI Wood County has been chosen to be one of the twenty counties in Ohio selected to develop a local YouthMOVE chapter! YouthMOVE Wood County is a youth-led organization designed for youth ages 14-24, who have diverse lived experiences in the mental health, juvenile justice, education, and child welfare systems. The purpose of YouthMOVE Wood County is to strengthen
and improve youth inclusion in communities and to ensure that youth are given a voice in the mental health care system and other systems that affect them. Furthermore, this program strives to develop youth leaders by empowering youth to create positive changes in their lives and their community. The youth who participate in YouthMOVE will be given the opportunity to create and plan events that raise awareness of issues that are important to them. We strongly believe that this program will set in motion a strong group of dynamic leaders who will not only create positive change in their own lives, but also in their community!
