Volunteers are the heart of BRCTH! ❤️ Do you enjoy being around horses, helping people and having fun in a caring and supportive environment? Feel free to share this information with others who might be interested.

You are invited to our Volunteer Orientation to learn about Equine Assisted Services and the important role you can play as a lesson volunteer. When we move to a new facility, we want to be up and running as soon as possible, and recruiting new volunteers now will help make that happen. Follow-up hands-on training sessions will be scheduled once we have relocated.

Lesson volunteers must be at least 14 yrs old. Horse experience is required for horse leaders, but not for side walkers whose focus is the student. We serve children from age 4 and adults with a wide variety of disabling conditions.

We serve the northern Shenandoah Valley of VA and contingent WV counties.

The Orientation will be held at Evergreen Farm, just north of Berryville, VA. Please contact us to register or for more information.

Fall is approaching fast which makes our need even more urgent.
Thank you!

July is National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, also known as BIPOC Mental Health Month. This observance highlights the unique mental health experiences and systemic barriers faced by Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color, as well as other historically marginalized groups.

At Blue Ridge Care, we know that healing is not one-size-fits-all. Culturally responsive support, safe spaces, and equitable access to care aren’t extras—they’re essential. We remain committed to walking alongside each person with dignity and compassion, every step of the way.

To learn more, the Mental Health Coalition offers insight and resources on how to better support mental health equity in our communities. Find more information and resources here: https://www.thementalhealthcoalition.org/category/bipoc/

If you or someone you know is in need of support, our grief counseling services offer a compassionate, welcoming space for all. Learn more here: blueridgecare.org/griefcounseling
