FOX Optimal Living Update!

December brought a fun and festive energy to Chestnut Knoll, and our FOX Optimal Living Program took full advantage of the holiday season to keep residents moving with purpose.

The standout event of the month was our Elf on the Shelf, which ran throughout December. A new riddle was shared each morning; residents had to search the building to locate the hidden elf. Some riddles were harder than others as well as some hiding spots were 'hidden in plain sight'. This activity was intentionally designed to encourage functional mobility, as residents ambulated through common areas, worked on endurance, balance, reaching, and environmental navigation.

Alongside Elf on the Shelf, residents participated in ongoing resident favorite balloon volleyball. Big Tic Tac Toe was a new creative game! It was a first time playing Big Tic Tac Toe so we have some kinks we will work out for next time! Residents enjoyed playing a new game, that required some strategy.

We are excited to host our annual FOL Awards Ceremony on February 1. This special event is a wonderful opportunity to recognize our spotlight award winners while reflecting on the many fun and meaningful activities enjoyed throughout the year.
