FOX OPTIMAL LIVING UPDATE!
August was full of energy and team spirit here at Chestnut Knoll with our FOX Optimal Living Program! We kicked things off with our Summer Staff Olympics, where residents cheered loudly as staff competed in fun challenges. The staff completed a wheelchair obstacle course, mini golf, and single leg balance corn hole! The residents had just as much fun watching as the staff did participating.
Volleyball was also front and center this month! Our residents kept their momentum going with weekly matches, and our much-anticipated volleyball league against the local senior center was in full swing. While the competition was tough, our residents showed determination, and lots of laughs along the way.
This month we also completed 22 equipment consultations. These are such an important part of what we do, making sure residents have the right tools in place, whether that’s adjusting something they already use or helping them get new equipment. Having the right equipment makes daily life easier, promotes independence, and gives residents the confidence to keep doing the things they love.
Looking ahead to September, we’ve got more exciting activities planned! We’ll be keeping our volleyball streak going, trying out some competitive table hockey matches, and bringing football into the mix as we gear up for football season. Stay tuned for the Volleyball Tournament Championship on September 23rd at Chestnut Knoll! Winner of this will take home the trophy and we have home field advantage.
