Challenge Mountain Enrich lives and empower people living with disabilities through adaptive recreation.

Established in 1984 as a non-profit organization, Challenge Mountain was the first independent adaptive skiing program in northern Michigan. Today, Challenge Mountain offers adaptive recreational and social opportunities that continue to enrich lives and empower individuals living with disabilities. Each year, Challenge Mountain connects children, youth and adults living with disabilities through

adaptive skiing, equine therapy, ropes challenge course, adaptive biking, sailing and SPIRIT Day Camp. Individuals of all ages and abilities can take part in Challenge Mountain’s programs at no cost, including those living with physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities.

Our annual summer kickoff is happening later this month, May 27 to be exact. This fun, and FREE event is a perfect opportunity for disabled youth and adults to let loose and meet new friends in a safe and engaging environment.

Thanks to the Next Gen program at Great Lakes Center for the Arts, we had a wonderful morning exploring motion and movement. Guided by Dominic Moore-Dunson, participants learned how the body can be used as a powerful tool for storytelling, emotional expression, and connection. 🙌 🫂

Today's event was attended by almost 40 individuals, including students of Charlevoix-Emmet ISD and clients of Bergmann Center and Crossroads Industries Inc.
