In order to restore function to his thumb after not being able to use it 10+ years, he needed a tendon transfer. This procedure normally requires large incisions through the area of the tattoo. Even with perfect repair there would be damage to the tattoo given it's detail. Beacaue this tattoo is very important to him, remote incisions were made to avoid the tattoo completely.

Our Story

Dr. Angelo Incorvaia was born in Brooklyn, New York. After completing his undergraduate training at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, he earned his Doctorate in Medicine at Ross University School of Medicine. He then began rigorous residency training in General Surgery in Long Branch, NJ and completed it at Synergy Medical Education Alliance in Michigan, at Michigan State University, where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Incorvaia was awarded a fellowship in Hand, Wrist and Microsurgery at Albert Einstein at Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC where he worked side-by-side with world-renowned hand & wrist surgeon, Charles P. Melone, Jr, M.D.

Dr. Incorvaia has been practicing in South Florida since 2007, where he has been caring for local residents and snowbirds alike. Dr. Incorvaia is on the cutting edge of technology, performing many new and innovative procedures requiring special training including arthroscopic basal joint surgery and needle aponeurotomy (NA) for Dupuytren’s disease.
