Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) brings the future of medicine to the present by allowing physicians to take a deep look into their patient's medical issues. With a compact, mobile ultrasound, Dr. Rodriguez can get an inner picture of issues like fatty liver, swollen lymph nodes, lung liquid, and so much more right from the exam room. This tool will never replace the need for a regular ultrasound and educated techs to read them. However, more comprehensive access to POCUS will lead to cutting costs in healthcare, efficiency, and further accuracy in diagnosing patients, providing patients with a deeper understanding of their problems, and so much more. We are grateful for the opportunity to trial POCUS in the office with local students along for the ride.
