Common Myths of Therapy for Children. If my child goes to therapy, it means there is something wrong with them: Children, and people of any age, can attend therapy for a variety of reasons. Therapy for children can be a safe environment for children to process their feelings, work on identifying their feelings, and recognizing their inherent strengths and worth. Mental Health Therapy is no different than doing things to take care of one's body, like working out. Learning to flex our social and emotional muscles is an important part of health and wellness.
