Huge shoutout to our amazing pharmacists at One Health! “My name is Katie Baker, and I have been a pharmacist for 16 years, and 4 years at CHP/One Health. Most of our pharmacists at CHP/One Health came here via a traditional retail job, and I know I speak for the collective when I say we all had many days at those jobs where we went home feeling like we wanted to help patients, but there were so many barriers in our way. From corporate policies and metrics and insurance hurdles to lines that reached all the way down the store aisles, I (we) continually felt like there’s just got to be a better way to provide patient care. At CHP, many of these barriers don’t exist. We are able to take time with each patient, assessing their unique situation and building a plan that gives them access to medications, quality education, and most important of all- dignity and respect, regardless of life circumstances. These are skills we were all taught in school that we hoped to be able to put into practice, and at CHP we can. Personally, I enjoy working at CHP because I rarely go home feeling like I could have done more to help. The ability to work together with the medical, behavioral health and resource teams to create solutions for people makes for rewarding and interesting days. When patients walk out of our pharmacy with a little bit more hope and optimism than they came in with, we feel that we have made a difference, even if it is a small one.”

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month! It's crucial to understand that cervical cancer often doesn’t present any signs or symptoms in its early stages, making regular screening essential for early detection.

For women aged 21 to 29, it’s recommended to have a Pap test alone every 3 years. This simple procedure can help identify any abnormal cells before they turn into cancer. For women between the ages of 30 and 65, co-testing with both a Pap test and an HPV test every 5 years offers an even more comprehensive approach to cervical health.
