KRONAN Spirits represents Swedish tradition, craftsmanship, and history since 1733. The liqueur has a full-bodied, lingering taste with exceptional depth.

With our Original Swedish Punsch and an extensive selection of rums from Java, Guyana, and Jamaica, we bring together the elements that define this unique creation. KRONAN a.k.a Swedish Punsch is a Rum liqueur of two histories—a national drink in Sweden, for over 288 years, and a component of numerous classic cocktails since the late 1800's. KRONAN is a blend of selected double pot-stilled rum from the East and West Indies—From the Island of Java in Indonesia (Batavia Arrack) and from Jamaica and Port Mourant Distillery Guyana, in the Caribbean. What makes the difference in both nose and taste starts in the fermentation process. The sugarcane molasses, the base for making the Batavia Arrack and the local red rice of Java ,that is part of the yeast used, together with the aging/storage in open teak wood vats creates these unique characters. Balanced with the intriguing rum from Port Mourants, Guyana, green wood stills, aromatic and complexed, and the Jamaican Rum smooth and inviting, lends to the unique characters found in KRONAN. The nose has “funky” rum characters of smokiness, toffee, leather and molasses. Use in the classic Doctor Cocktail (1916), the Tiki cocktail Diki-Diki ( 1922) , and Mabel Berra cocktail just to mention a few

Over ice and a squeeze of lime, KRONAN is an ideal and easy afternoon drink, after dinner, or enjoyed with good cigars.

🩺🌴 Caribbean Doctor 🌴🩺
Built around the deep, velvety core of Kronan Swedish Punsch — molasses, toffee, faint smoke, and old-world spice — this drink leans dark and elegant. Kronan gives the cocktail its body and soul, wrapping Black Tears’ coffee-cocoa warmth in a bittersweet, almost tea-like richness. Blood orange and lemon cut through with bright citrus tension, while pimento dram adds a whisper of baking spice.
A layered, slow-sipping tropical remedy.
Recipe:
45ml Black Tears Spiced Rum
40ml KRONAN Swedish Punsch
10ml Blood Orange Juice
10ml Lemon Juice
2 sprays Pimento Dram
2 drops Saline Solution

This is one of my absolute favorite cocktails.

Not because it’s complicated — quite the opposite. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘁𝗮𝗶l is one of the purest ways I know to present this unique rum liqueur a.k.a Swedish Punsch. Just enough structure to let the spirit speak, and just enough citrus to lift it.

For more than 30 years, I’ve been working with Swedish Punsch — creating it, refining it, defending it, and often explaining it. It’s a spirit that has been misunderstood, simplified, or forgotten far too often, despite its deep roots in both Swedish culture and early international cocktail history.

What the Doctor Cocktail has always represented to me is clarity.
A way to show what Swedish Punsch really is — not a curiosity, not a sweet relic — but a thoughtful, versatile, historically grounded rum liqueur with real purpose behind the bar.

This page is my way of sharing that journey. To look back at where the Doctor came from, to follow how it evolved, and to inspire new interpretations that stay true to its foundation while speaking a modern language.

If I can help spark curiosity, pass on a bit of knowledge, or encourage someone to reach for Swedish Punsch with confidence — then this revival has already done its job.

I had already spent years talking about the original Doctor Cocktail — its structure, its history, and why Swedish Punsch and citrus work so beautifully together. But seeing Anders take that foundation and interpret it with such clarity and respect made me realize something important:

This cocktail deserved its own space.
A place where the original could live side by side with thoughtful modern interpretations.

I’m not a mixologist or a professional bartender myself. I’ve of course dabbled with my own ideas over the years — some more successful than others — and that’s exactly why I find this so exciting. The real magic happens when skilled, curious people behind the bar take a classic and make it their own.

That’s what I hope Doctor Cocktail Revival becomes.

A place to share, inspire, and learn from each other. From established bartenders to passionate enthusiasts. From subtle tweaks to bold new directions — as long as the foundation is respected, everything is welcome.

A quick stop at one of my favorite Bar/Restaurant in my neighborhood in Bradenton EnRich Bistro for a Refreshing Cocktail, Grand Slam ! A classic from the 1930’s and a feature in many cocktail books from the era. This one is great as an aperitif, lower in alcohol but full of flavors! Not a complex mix 2/4 KRONAN SWEDISH PUNSCH and 1/4 Dry vermouth 1/4 Sweet Vermouth… stirr and serve over ice 😋 Tonight’s vermouth was 9 di DANTE that did a great job balance the Rum in KRONAN ! Well I couldn’t leave without the wonderful braised Rabbit 😍 And the cocktail… well it worked so well with this dish … like a really good full bodied wine !!!! Will have this again. This KRONAN Espresso Martini is an amazing creation by Noam at the always-brilliant in Saint Louis, Missouri.

I truly love this place — the atmosphere, the curiosity, and above all the genuine support of KRONAN. Platypus is exactly the kind of bar that inspires me: fearless creativity, deep respect for ingredients, and cocktails made with intention.

Seeing KRONAN Swedish Punsch interpreted with all these brilliant products in such a thoughtful way is incredibly rewarding. Thank you for believing in the brand and for continuously pushing the boundaries of what a modern bar can be.

Ett av de absolut stoltaste ögonblicken i mitt professionella liv inträffade år 2000, den dag då Nobelkommittén ringde och frågade om vi var intresserade av att inkludera 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗲 Svensk Punsch i årets Nobelmiddag.

För mig var detta inte bara ett erkännande av en produkt, utan ett tydligt uttryck för Nobelkommitténs respekt för tradition, kvalitet och hantverk — och för det som av många betraktas som vår svenska ”nationaldryck”. Att få se Svensk Punsch serveras i ett sammanhang som representerar det allra högsta inom svensk kultur, vetenskap och gastronomi var både hedrande och djupt rörande.

Det är därför med stor stolthet jag kan konstatera att denna tradition fortsätter. Vid Nobelmiddagen 2025 serverades Svensk Punsch återigen — ett starkt bevis på dryckens fortsatta relevans och betydelse.😀

För mig personligen är detta också ett kvitto på den ambition jag burit i över tre decennier: att visa både Sverige och världen värdet av denna unika, EU-klassificerade dryck med anor tillbaka till 1733. En dryck vars identitet tidigt slogs fast genom Kung Adolf Fredriks kungliga dekret 1758 där det tydligt fastställdes att
”Svensk Punsch måste vara producerad i Sverige och huvudsakligen baserad på Batavia Arrack” — den indonesiska rommen från ön Java som utgör hjärtat i denna tradition.

Jag hoppas innerligt att vi framöver kommer att se ett ökat intresse även här hemma i Sverige — inte minst från svenska konsumenter och Systembolaget — för att värna om denna tradition, dess ursprung och dess kvalitet. Svensk Punsch är en del av vårt kulturarv, och det är min fasta övertygelse att vi behöver fortsätta stödja svenska producenter som arbetar långsiktigt med historiskt förankrade produkter och genuint hantverk.

Att denna historia, detta regelverk och detta hantverk fortfarande respekteras och hedras i ett av världens mest prestigefyllda sammanhang är ett tydligt tecken på att Svensk Punsch inte bara tillhör det förflutna — utan har en självklar plats även i vår tid och för framtida generation.

Ok… guilty! 😅
After that incredible appetizer with braised rabbit 😍 I was unstoppable!

First came a Dry Espresso Martini — a bold, full-bodied espresso shaken with beautifully smoky Mezcal Del Maguey Mezcal and, of course, a touch of KRONAN SWEDISH PUNSCH to clean my palate. 😉

And since I definitely have a sweet tooth… I went all in.
S’mores bread pudding 😜 Served with a glass of KRONAN, straight up.
All those deep dessert flavors — dark chocolate, toasted sweetness — blended perfectly with the “triple” rums in KRONAN. Pure harmony.

Yes… I had everything!
