This KRONAN Espresso Martini is an amazing creation by Noam at the always-brilliant in Saint Louis, Missouri.

I truly love this place — the atmosphere, the curiosity, and above all the genuine support of KRONAN. Platypus is exactly the kind of bar that inspires me: fearless creativity, deep respect for ingredients, and cocktails made with intention.

Seeing KRONAN Swedish Punsch interpreted with all these brilliant products in such a thoughtful way is incredibly rewarding. Thank you for believing in the brand and for continuously pushing the boundaries of what a modern bar can be.

Ett av de absolut stoltaste ögonblicken i mitt professionella liv inträffade år 2000, den dag då Nobelkommittén ringde och frågade om vi var intresserade av att inkludera 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗲 Svensk Punsch i årets Nobelmiddag.

För mig var detta inte bara ett erkännande av en produkt, utan ett tydligt uttryck för Nobelkommitténs respekt för tradition, kvalitet och hantverk — och för det som av många betraktas som vår svenska ”nationaldryck”. Att få se Svensk Punsch serveras i ett sammanhang som representerar det allra högsta inom svensk kultur, vetenskap och gastronomi var både hedrande och djupt rörande.

Det är därför med stor stolthet jag kan konstatera att denna tradition fortsätter. Vid Nobelmiddagen 2025 serverades Svensk Punsch återigen — ett starkt bevis på dryckens fortsatta relevans och betydelse.😀

För mig personligen är detta också ett kvitto på den ambition jag burit i över tre decennier: att visa både Sverige och världen värdet av denna unika, EU-klassificerade dryck med anor tillbaka till 1733. En dryck vars identitet tidigt slogs fast genom Kung Adolf Fredriks kungliga dekret 1758 där det tydligt fastställdes att
”Svensk Punsch måste vara producerad i Sverige och huvudsakligen baserad på Batavia Arrack” — den indonesiska rommen från ön Java som utgör hjärtat i denna tradition.

Jag hoppas innerligt att vi framöver kommer att se ett ökat intresse även här hemma i Sverige — inte minst från svenska konsumenter och Systembolaget — för att värna om denna tradition, dess ursprung och dess kvalitet. Svensk Punsch är en del av vårt kulturarv, och det är min fasta övertygelse att vi behöver fortsätta stödja svenska producenter som arbetar långsiktigt med historiskt förankrade produkter och genuint hantverk.

Att denna historia, detta regelverk och detta hantverk fortfarande respekteras och hedras i ett av världens mest prestigefyllda sammanhang är ett tydligt tecken på att Svensk Punsch inte bara tillhör det förflutna — utan har en självklar plats även i vår tid och för framtida generation.

Ok… guilty! 😅
After that incredible appetizer with braised rabbit 😍 I was unstoppable!

First came a Dry Espresso Martini — a bold, full-bodied espresso shaken with beautifully smoky Mezcal Del Maguey Mezcal and, of course, a touch of KRONAN SWEDISH PUNSCH to clean my palate. 😉

And since I definitely have a sweet tooth… I went all in.
S’mores bread pudding 😜 Served with a glass of KRONAN, straight up.
All those deep dessert flavors — dark chocolate, toasted sweetness — blended perfectly with the “triple” rums in KRONAN. Pure harmony.

Yes… I had everything!

What really makes me happy is finding restaurants and bars where the menu and cocktail list show true creativity and imagination. 😀
When the food and drinks are thoughtfully crafted — and that creativity is matched by the skill of both the chefs and the bar team — it truly makes the evening special. Combine that with excellent service and a wonderful “feel-good” atmosphere… well, what more can you ask for? 👏
My girlfriend Barbara had exactly that experience at Doctors Office on Anna Maria Island . If you have a passion for culinary highlights and great cocktails , this is an absolutely a must-vist. And yes — it made me extra proud to see KRONAN Swedish Punsch on their cocktail menu, also beautifully paired (as you’ll see in the photos) with an incredible chocolate dessert. Yum! 😍 ✨ Bonus tip:

One of my absolute favorite cocktails using KRONAN Swedish Punsch is the 𝗗𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 from 1916. Traditionally made with 2/3 KRONAN and 1/3 fresh lime juice, it’s simple, bright, and wonderfully balanced.

But many of our friends out there have created new and exciting variations of this classic — without losing the basic soul of the drink.

Since KRONAN is a Rum liqueur, it also pairs beautifully with the nuances of what other rums can bring. In this case, this recipe comes from 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗘𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗼𝗻 a Youtube Cocktail Guru!

The smooth character of 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗼𝗻 blends in perfectly and adds depth to the cocktail — and yes, there is already Jamaican rum in KRONAN — while the Demerara syrup and a few dashes of Angostura bitters bring everything together into something truly delicious. 😍

So, let’s mix:
• 1 oz Appleton
• 3/4 oz KRONAN Swedish Punsch
• 3/4 oz fresh lime juice
• 1/2 oz Demerara syrup
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters

Shake well, double strain, and serve in a chilled glass.

When I began my journey in the name of Swedish Punsch, I had no idea — and I know many shared this with me — just how much impact this 1733 classic rum-based liqueur (Batavia Arrack from Java, Indonesia) has had on international cocktail culture since the late 1800s.

One of my great discoveries came through The Savoy Cocktail Book, first published in London in 1930 by Harry Craddock of the Savoy Hotel. It is a true collection of the most celebrated cocktails of its time. When I first opened it, I was astonished to find not just a few, but 22 — later 23 — cocktails that called for Swedish Punsch. Even more remarkable is that the book is still reprinted today, continuing to inspire bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts across generations.

Of course, I had to try them all. And to my delight, every single one of those 23 recipes was beautifully balanced when made with KRONAN Original Swedish Punsch. A few surprised me along the way, especially when reading through the ingredient lists.

Today’s highlight is one such surprise: the Broadway Smile. At first glance, with equal parts KRONAN, Cointreau, and Crème de Cassis, I expected something far too sweet — an after-dinner indulgence at best. But I was wrong. What I discovered was a cocktail of perfect balance. I believe the secret lies in a touch of bitter in the Crème de Cassis, which also bind and deepens the other flavors.

I’ll admit, I didn’t even try to layer it (I’m not good enough for that!), but it didn’t matter. The simplicity of three great spirits, and the complexity of their interplay, created something truly wonderful.

The Broadway Smile deserves to be called a classic.
