Heartwood lost one of its brightest stars this morning. Our angel, Adrienne Lerfald, has battled so much in her life: heart issues at a young age requiring drastic surgeries, the loss of both parents when she was still young, and then a series of cancers that tested her faith and her will. And she never, ever, gave up or lost hope. She gave us all a shining example of how we can stand in the face of adversity and smile, laugh, and move forward.

Adrienne was a wonderful student of yoga and life, and after she'd gotten her training, she lived what she had learned. She came back to us to teach, and she touched so many lives in that way. She had the most devoted following, never failing to fill her classes with steadfast and loving admirers who were buoyed by her gentle and optimistic spirit and her gentle way of making everyone in her classes feel cared for. She had just graduated as a Certified Yoga Therapist, insisting on putting in the demanding work to complete her course requirements for our IAYT accredited training despite the severity of her medical condition. As everything within her body was failing, she was still determined to focus on helping others and making their lives brighter. Her sparkle never faded, and her cheerful laugh still echoes around the walls of Heartwood and in our hearts. She will be missed. Her memory will bring us peace, and we hope that she continues to find peace as well.

Congratulations to our final RYS-200 program for 50 plus. They graduated today and deserve to celebrate. It was an honor teaching them and them made our final training poignant and very special. May they spread the teachings of yoga to new communities of their own now.
