Fun fact: The psoas isn’t just a hip flexor, it’s deeply tied to the nervous system, breath, pelvic balance, and the body’s stress response.
During pregnancy, this deep muscle holds stories, both emotional and physical, while also influencing pelvic space, posture, and baby’s positioning. When the nervous system is under constant load, the psoas tightens.
During labor, a supple, responsive psoas allows the pelvis to adapt, the uterus to work efficiently, and baby to move through the birth canal with more ease. When the psoas is chronically tight or guarding, it can create resistance, physically and neurologically, making labor feel longer, harder, or more exhausting as it it responds directly to stress, fear, and survival.
Chiropractic care helps the nervous system release protective holding patterns so the psoas can soften, lengthen, and move as it was designed to.
A regulated system creates space, both for baby and for you.
