âIâm sending you my wife, my kid, and I think I can get my brother to come too,â
Tom excitedly babbled as he stood up from his mat.
âWoah â youâre going to be walking different now, so take it easy,â
I said, handing him a glass of water.
Tom had been dealing with debilitating sciatica pain for almost 9 months.
After 3 private yoga sessions, it was completely gone.
âYou know how much my deductible on that surgery wouldâve been?â he asked.
âHow come more people donât know about this?â
I hear this often after someone has a big healing response â
from private yoga, body rolling, or bodywork.
Weâre outnumbered by advertisements promising relief in a pill,
while a quiet list of side effects mumbles across the screen
and happy people frolic into the sun.
Many people donât know â or donât trust â
the bodyâs ability to heal itself.
And honestly, it makes sense.
Weâve been taught to outsource answers instead of listening inward.
Thatâs where yoga comes in.
Healing here is an intimate exchange:
body to brain, student to teacher, teacher back to student.
Yes, pain shifts â sciatica, low back pain, plantar fasciitis, digestion â
but something deeper happens too.
You sharpen intuition.
You learn to speak the language of sensation.
You remember how to trust yourself again.
As the Bhagavad Gita says:
Yoga is the journey of the Self, through the Self, to the Self.
And once we remember our own strength,
we naturally invite others to remember theirs.
If youâre feeling stuck â physically, mentally, or emotionally â
private sessions may offer a new way forward.
