💚 Meet Teddy, our real-life Teddy Bear🐾 Say hello to Teddy, one of our therapy dogs who lives up to his name in every way. With his soft fur, calm presence, and gentle personality, Teddy brings comfort to everyone he meets! Whether he’s making a new friend in the hallway or sitting quietly by someone’s side, Teddy has a special way of brightening the day and bringing a sense of ease to those around him. Sometimes, all it takes is a visit from a “teddy bear” to make a moment feel a little lighter. 🧸 We’re grateful for Teddy and all of our therapy dogs who help bring warmth and smiles throughout the hospital. 💚

🩺 Always Ready to Respond 🏩 At Manatee Memorial, preparation is key to keeping our community safe. Staff recently came together to practice setting up our Mass Decontamination (decon) tent, working with each other to make sure we’re ready to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency. We were also joined by Southern Manatee Fire Rescue, who helped answer questions, review decon procedures and discuss expectations for working together should additional support be needed from local fire departments.

Trainings like this strengthens coordination, communication and readiness. If the unexpected happens, we are prepared to act. Because when it comes to protecting our community, we train for all emergencies. We’re ready when it matters most. 💙

Behind every visit is a highly trained team of emergency physicians, nurses, and support staff who are prepared to respond quickly and confidently to a wide range of medical situations. 🩺 From the moment a patient arrives, the team works together to assess, stabilize, and begin treatment—prioritizing both speed and safety in every decision. As an extension of Manatee Memorial Hospital, our FEDs operate 24/7 and offer on-site laboratory and radiology services for timely diagnosis and treatment, with seamless access to additional hospital services if further care is needed.

🌟Spotlight Award 💚 Today’s Spotlight Award is especially meaningful, as it comes from one of our own—a Registered Nurse who experienced our care from a different perspective while her mother was a patient on 2 North Tower (2NT).

In a letter, she shared her gratitude for the care her family received, highlighting one nurse in particular: “Kristi was her nurse for several days and showed such kindness, compassion, and professionalism. She not only took superior care of my mom, she also talked with me and gave me so much support and encouragement. She truly exhibited a nurse’s heart mixed with highly competent skills.” 🩺

She also recognized the entire team: “The staff on 2NT were wonderful—nurses, PCTs, case managers, and housekeeping. They all treated my mother with compassion and skill.” As a nurse of 22 years, she shared how meaningful this experience was: “Not everyone makes you feel like you’re truly work family… Kristi was, by far, the best of the best!”

We’re proud to recognize Kristi and every staff member involved for creating a care experience that truly felt like family. This is the standard we set. This is the culture we’re creating. 🏩

Working together, physicians, nurses, and staff assess and treat patients efficiently while maintaining a focus on safety. Their ability to adapt makes a difference in every patient interaction. Beyond the hospital walls, the ED also serves as a key resource for the community—providing access to care at all hours and being there for patients and families during some of their most urgent moments. 🌟Spotlight Award 💚 This recognition reflects the collective effort of a team that helped create an exceptional patient experience. A former patient from our Stroke and Cerebral Vascular Center recently shared a heartfelt letter expressing gratitude for the care they received at Manatee Memorial, noting everything from the cleanliness of our facility to the compassion and professionalism of our staff. Nurses Carlos (left) and Jesus (right), along with Lacie and Betty, were among those recognized for making a meaningful impact during the patient’s stay.

“I was thoroughly impressed by the level of professionalism, compassion and expertise exhibited by the entire staff. From the moment I arrived at the Emergency Room to my final check-out, every encounter was a testament to their sincere commitment to patient care. Their warm smiles, gentle reassurances, and constant availability made me feel comfortable and confident throughout my stay... I felt involved in the decisions of my recovery and was always kept informed.

This spotlight reflects the teamwork, empathy and dedication shown by our nurses, physicians and support staff every day.
