The American Heart Association recommends that patients may need to wait 3 to 6 months after certain cardiovascular procedures or events before undergoing dental cleanings or dental procedures. If you have experienced any cardiovascular event or procedure within the past six months, such as placement of a stent, a heart attack, or placement of a pacemaker, please inform your dental provider. This allows them to obtain the appropriate cardiac clearance from your cardiologist, as protocols may vary between physicians 🫀

Diabetes can have a significant impact on oral health and can increase your risk for gum disease, reduce saliva production, and cause oral lesions. It’s important to manage your diabetes and schedule regular check ups and cleanings with your dentist in order to be in control of your oral health 🦷

In honor of national orthodontic health month, it’s important to be educated on why expansion matters before Braces or Aligners ✨
