The American Heart Association recommends that patients may need to wait 3 to 6 months after certain cardiovascular procedures or events before undergoing dental cleanings or dental procedures. If you have experienced any cardiovascular event or procedure within the past six months, such as placement of a stent, a heart attack, or placement of a pacemaker, please inform your dental provider. This allows them to obtain the appropriate cardiac clearance from your cardiologist, as protocols may vary between physicians 🫀
