Our Village residents whipped up a couple of delicious loaves of "peasant bread" for National Homemade Bread Day! For a lot of us, it was our first time making bread, but the results were delicious!

Our amazing gals and guys embraced their inner royalty with colorful boas, dazzling tiaras, and big smiles for Princess Day. As we enter a season defined by gratitude and giving, we also recognize that many families are experiencing food insecurity. To help support those in need, our community is collecting non-perishable food items now through December 31. And thanks to Grace Management, Inc., every donation will be matched pound for pound (up to 100 pounds) to extend the impact even further.

Our residents spent the afternoon bringing their creativity to life with wooden laser-cut 3D pumpkin crafts! From bold autumn hues to unexpected pops of color, each pumpkin showcased a unique perspective and personality. It was wonderful to see everyone laughing, painting, and sharing their artistic flair. These little works of art are sure to add a Fall festive touch to our community!

Last Friday was National Pickle Day, so our Village residents got together to make our very own batch of pickles. We cleaned, we cut, we soaked, we waited - and I think the end result turned out pretty good!

Our community was treated to a truly special performance by a young and incredibly talented cellist, Joseph. His passion, poise, and musicality filled our great room with the most beautiful sound — and our residents were absolutely captivated! A huge thank-you to this remarkable young musician for sharing his gift with us at The Summit of Lakewood Ranch! We’re already looking forward to his next visit.

Our Village residents celebrated America Recycles Day and got into the spirit of the season at the same time by making these adorable toilet paper roll turkeys!

Over two special days, our community came together to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country.

Day 1 began with a heartfelt pinning ceremony recognizing the veterans within our Summit family — both residents and associates — for their service and sacrifice.

Day 2 brought an incredible visit from the Knights of Columbus, who honored our veterans and service heroes with a moving celebration. The event featured a DJ playing patriotic music, a cheerful visit from the Tidewell Hospice clowns, and a touching folding of the flag ceremony.

In a meaningful moment, The Summit of Lakewood Ranch surrendered our flag, tattered by Hurricane Milton, to the Knights of Columbus for proper retirement — a gesture symbolizing respect, remembrance, and renewal.

We are deeply grateful to all who served and to those who joined us in honoring our heroes this Veterans Day. ❤️🤍💙
