Hello everyone! We will be transitioning to Steps Groups starting next Thursday which will be closed groups using the Celebrate Recovery workbooks, therefore this ministry will no longer be open to the public. Unfortunately, we will not have enough people to continue our large group at this time as most of our attendees are joining the Steps groups. We are so thankful that we had a full year of blessings upon blessings and people have joined our church body and have joined us in other ministries because of it! We may open back up in the future, only God knows but for now we just want to thank you all for your support in this ministry! Blessings to you all:)

Co-dependency is when a person’s need for approval or validation from another person allows them to be controlled or manipulated, or a person who attempts to manipulate or control someone. They are willing to compromise their own values, choices, and behavior at the expense of their personal well-being.

Through a relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Higher Power, and by working through the 8 principles and the Christ-centered 12 steps, we can find freedom from our hurts, hang ups and habits.

There is a plan and a purpose for anger in our lives. Anger is one of our 10 basic God-given emotions and there are constructive ways to deal with and express anger. For many of us, anger is the primary way we choose to express emotions.

We must learn to recognize our unhealthy patterns of anger and the emotions and circumstances that push us to become destructively angry.

For us, anger is a “misdirection,” a hang-up that we have developed to mask hurt or fear. At it’s core, our anger is an intent to preserve our personal worth, essential needs, or basic convictions.

We may feel intense shame and guilt over the actions we have committed during our unhealthy expressions of anger. We vow never to act that way again, only to find ourselves back in the same situations, unable to change it by our own power.

The steps groups are where we go deeper into the healing by going through 4 workbooks in a group setting together. There will be a men’s group led by Dave and Scott and a women’s group led by Laura and Renee.

People often think of CR as just a replacement for AA and that you need to have an addiction to come but CR is so much more than that! It is pushing through the trials that get us stuck in this life so we can grow in God and He can remove any stumbling blocks that stand in our way in getting to Him. It is about sanctification and becoming more like Him. It is coming to our Mighty Counselor with any issue that we cannot seem to get past and it is letting Him do the work in us that we didn’t even know we needed done! Let’s press on toward the prize that He has for us.

We can’t let our past stop us from marching down the road to recovery. God is calling us to press on toward the prize that He has for us.

Paul wrote about this very thing to the church in Philippi:

“I do not claim that I have already succeeded or have already become perfect. I keep striving to win the prize for which Christ Jesus has already won me to himself.

Of course, my brothers and sisters, I really do not think that I have already won it; the one thing I do, however, is to forget what is behind me and do my best to reach what is ahead.

So I run straight towards the goal in order to win the prize, which is God's call through Christ Jesus to the life above.” Philippians‬ ‭3:12-14‬ ‭GNB‬‬

Rest in Him:)

The road to recovery is a lifetime journey.

It is highly likely you will get tired along this journey. You may even have moments when you feel like quitting is the only option.

Quitting is not an option… But rest is!

If we want to have the best rest we must go to Jesus for it.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew‬ ‭11:28-30‬ ‭NIV‬‬
