Journey Health System is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Larson as Vice President of Corporate Strategy.
This key leadership role will oversee and manage all aspects of corporate development, including the formulation and ex*****on of the organization’s acquisition strategy and the merger and acquisition (M&A) process. In addition, Brian will provide strategic direction for Journey Health System’s affiliation, training, recruiting, and retention efforts—critical components of our long-term growth and success.
Brian’s entire professional career has been dedicated to Beacon Light Behavioral Health Systems and Journey Health System, making him uniquely suited for this role. With a Master’s in Social Work, Brian began his career in direct care before moving into leadership positions. He spent many years in various leadership roles in residential services for Beacon Light, overseeing more than 80 residential beds in Bradford alone. His deep understanding of residential programming—particularly the challenges of staffing, turnover, regulatory complexities, and managing a young workforce—has been instrumental to our success.
For nearly six years in his most recent role as Director of Recruitment and Retention, Brian has led hiring efforts across the health system and developed initiatives to support and retain high-quality employees. He expanded the Professional Development Specialist program to four full-time positions, supporting all new residential hires, and recently assumed leadership of our new employee training and education program. His leadership was also central to the launch of our Amazing Workplace surveys and the DailyPay program, both of which have strengthened employee engagement and satisfaction.
“Brian brings exceptional passion, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to Journey Health System’s mission. His clinical background, residential experience, and innovative approach to workforce development will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen our organization,” stated Guy Signor, president & CEO Journey Health System.

Our Story

Beacon Light Behavioral Health Systems was founded as the Beacon Light Mission in the late 1800’s to provide care to children abandoned or orphaned by the early oil and lumber industries. The agency became incorporated in 1903 and the name changed to The Children’s Home of Bradford.

As the needs of our society have changed, the agency has evolved into a private, not-for-profit, social service agency providing quality, professional, education and behavioral health services to young people and adults. Today, Beacon Light Behavioral Health Systems is doing business with names for three separate companies that make up Beacon Light. Those companies are the Children’s Home of Bradford, which holds the management company of the agency, The Children’s Center for Treatment and Education, which all treatment programs fall under, and Ramsbottom Center, Inc. which is the adult Developmentally Disabled Division of the organization. Overall, Beacon Light Behavioral Health System's continuum of care includes Emergency Shelter Placement, Forensic Mental Health Services, Residential Treatment (RTF), Education programs, Community Based programs, Outpatient Services, and long-term residential services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Beacon Light is proud to be a Joint Commission Accredited mental health organization that believes in the following mission: "To advocate passionately for the individuals and families we serve."
