Restore will resume regular weekly meetings today !!!! 7pm at Open Arms....71 Congress street ! We are excited to see what the Lord has in store .If you are someone who like us has struggled with addiction please know you are welcome to join us.We are a faith based , Christ centered, confidential group who would be honored to support you in recovery. Step number 7...Humbly ask Him to remove all that is not of Him and to empower us to live through His Holy Spirit. This step brings us to a place where real lasting change takes shape....not that you havent already been thru some changes if you have worked the first 6 steps. But now you start to take an honest inventory of whats going on INSIDE. For me there was not such a big problem changing old behavior as much as old thought patterns and old heart conditions.Years of living the way I wanted and doing whatever I wanted had left me with some pretty messed up beliefs about myself and other people in general. I was judgmental and suspicious . I always thought the worst and expected the worst. And I didnt even notice how negative I felt most of the time because I was so used to it.Slowly , gently , a little at a time the Lord has been walking me thru a new way of thinking. New for me anyways. Its been a shock at times to really see myself thru His eyes. I had to come to a place where just being sober was not the end goal anymore.I had to be willing to really look at my wrong way of viewing the world and let the Holy Spirit correct me and change my thoughts.I am coming to realize that Im a work in progress and sobriety is just one step in the plan God has for my life. Psalms 51 :10 say Create in me a clean heart,O God . Renew a loyal spirit within me. Words written by a man who was called "A man after Gods own heart" We are all a work in progress but thankfully He is up to the task.
