Around this time, sports players ignore the severity of their injuries so they won't miss out on the next game.

Take it from the professionals.

Professional players have a doctor or specialist help them determine when it's a good time to return based on their extensive study of the body. Consult with one before making a potential life-altering decision.

Take the perspective that fixing things correctly now will improve performance in the future. Taking care of the body with proper treatment and rehab will ensure a long sports career.

PRO TIP: If a player has to change his/her style of play to compensate for an injury, that is an indicator of needing orthopedic evaluation.
