Why is glaucoma awareness important?
Glaucoma is often undiagnosed in its early stages.
Many people with glaucoma are unaware they have the condition.
Glaucoma can cause permanent vision loss.
**What can you do to help?
Get screened for glaucoma. North Star Family Medicine can help with this!
Protect your eyes from the sun by wearing UV-blocking sunglasses.
Wear protective eyewear when doing activities that could injure your eyes.
**What are the symptoms of glaucoma? Blurred or narrowed vision, Halos around lights, Eye pain or redness, and Headaches.
**Where can you learn more? American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Glaucoma Research Foundation, and Prevent Blindness.
