Here’s a tip for setting healthy boundaries as part of self-care:

Instead of trying to tackle your biggest boundary challenges first, pick one small area where you tend to overcommit or feel drained. This could be saying "no" to an extra task at work when you're already swamped, or declining a social invitation when you genuinely need quiet time.

When you say "no," you don't owe anyone a lengthy explanation or an apology. A simple, polite, but firm "No, I can't take that on right now," or "Thanks for the invitation, but I won't be able to make it," is perfectly sufficient. The more you practice this, the easier and more natural it becomes, strengthening your self-respect and protecting your energy.
