Cray Physical Therapy, a provider of outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation, announced the opening of its newest location in Braintree, Cray Physical Therapy Center for Pelvic Health. The Center for Pelvic Health is located at 1681 Washington St., in the same building as Cray Physical Therapy, just directly across the hall. Dr. Shawn Cray, DPT, CSCS, founded Cray Physical Therapy in 2009 with his first location in Braintree, MA. Soon followed was his second location in Weymouth and his third location in Norwell. Shawn has always aimed to bring the highest quality of care possible to the South Shore. His philosophy centers around consistently putting patients’ needs first and working tirelessly to meet their goals. The Center for Pelvic Health is staffed with a highly experienced team and compassionate support staff dedicated to the comprehensive treatment of pelvic floor disorders. “We believe that the one-to-one personalized care that we provide each patient allows us to design a unique physical therapy plan specific to our patient’s needs,” says Cyndi Lucas, DPT, Clinical Director of the Center for Pelvic Health. “Our physical therapists understand how to assess and address certain pelvic dysfunctions that might make a patient feel embarrassed or vulnerable. They approach each patient with knowledge and compassion to help everyone feel calm and comfortable.”

What to Expect at Your First Pelvic Physical Therapy Visit

Your first visit is truly about you; your story, your concerns, and what feels most important to your body right now. 🤍

We begin by taking time to listen. You’ll talk with your therapist about your symptoms, your health history, and your goals, whether that’s feeling more comfortable, moving without fear, or simply understanding what’s been going on with your body. There is no rushing and no pressure to share more than you’re ready for.

Your therapist will explain everything beforehand and answer any questions along the way. Any assessment or treatment is done with your full consent, and you are always in control of the pace. Many first visits focus on education, gentle movement, breathing, posture, and helping you better understand how your body works.

Most importantly, this is a safe, respectful space. You will be met with compassion—not judgment—and your concerns will be taken seriously. Pelvic physical therapy is about partnering with you, supporting your comfort, and helping you feel more confident and informed every step of the way.

You don’t need to be “sure” that this is the answer to take the first step. Sometimes, feeling heard is where healing begins. 🌿

You don’t need to know exactly what’s wrong with your body before seeking help.

Pelvic Physical Therapy isn’t about judgment or pushing through pain; it’s about listening, understanding, and working together at your pace.

If something feels off, that’s reason enough to reach out. You deserve care and clarity. 🌿

If You’re Healing After Surgery 🤍
Surgery can change your body in ways no one fully prepares you for. The discomfort, the fatigue, the uncertainty about what’s “normal” during recovery, can feel overwhelming.

Post-operative pelvic physical therapy focuses on helping your body heal safely and gently. We work to restore movement, ease pain, support your core and pelvic floor, and help you feel more confident as you return to daily life.

Recovery isn’t about rushing; it’s about listening to your body and having the proper support along the way. You don’t have to figure it out on your own.

Pregnancy & Postpartum Pelvic Changes

Your pelvic floor goes through incredible changes during pregnancy and after childbirth. 🤍

As your baby grows, your pelvic muscles stretch, your posture shifts, and pressure on your core and bladder increases. After delivery, whether vaginal or C-section, those muscles need time, care, and proper support to recover.

Pelvic Physical Therapy can help restore strength, improve bladder and bowel control, reduce pain, and help you feel confident in your body again. You don’t have to “just live with it.” 🌸

“I Didn’t Think This Was for Me”

Many women walk through our doors saying, “I didn’t think pelvic physical therapy was my answer.”

They thought leaking, pain, or discomfort was just something they had to live with. Or that their symptoms weren’t “bad enough.”

You don’t need to wait until things feel overwhelming to get support. Sometimes the first step is simply a conversation. 🤍

Let’s talk pelvic health. 🤍

So many women live with pain quietly. 🤫 They push through discomfort, normalize symptoms, and tell themselves it’s “just part of being a woman.” Pelvic pain, bladder issues, painful intimacy, and postpartum changes are often suffered in silence, even though they are not normal and not something you have to live with. 💭

We see how hard it is to speak up. 👂 We hear the relief when someone finally says, “I thought it was just me.” 💔➡️💗 You are not weak for struggling, and you are not alone for needing support. Your pain is real, and your experience matters.

If this resonates with you, know this: your body isn’t broken, and help exists. 🌱 You deserve care, answers, and a space where you’re truly heard. 🤍

Endometriosis is not “just a period problem.” 🚫🩸
It’s a complex, systemic disease 🧠🧬 where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, often affecting the pelvis, bladder, bowels, and more.

This tissue responds to monthly hormonal fluctuations, leading to inflammation, scarring, adhesions, and severe pain ⚡. Symptoms can include pelvic pain, bladder or bowel issues, constipation, pain with s*x, and fertility challenges.

Endometriosis is real. It is complex. And it can be debilitating without proper care and support.

At Cray Physical Therapy’s Center for Pelvic Health, we believe patients deserve to be heard, validated, and supported as part of a multidisciplinary approach to care.
