Norlyne Roy Taylor
June 30, 1947 - August 15, 2025
Roy was preceded in death by his mother; Dorothy Dean Bull, his father; Norlyne Royal Taylor, his sister; Rebecca(Becky) Sue Taylor, and his recently deceased wife; Sarah Elizabeth Taylor. Roy was born and raised in Oklahoma and joined the Navy at the young age of 17. He became an Engineman and sailed on two ships. He then volunteered and began his Jungle Warfare Training in order to become a Navy SEAL. He continued to serve three tours in Vietnam, as a Navy SEAL, where he was Honored twice with a Purple Heart Award, and then he retired with MIUWU 113 in Oklahoma City, OK. Roy and Sarah were married in the 1980’s and then, in the Fall of 1996 they moved to Morton, MS, at the behest of his loving wife. There, they raised a good family and created a wonderful life for themselves.
Roy was a Devoted Husband(“yes Dear…”), a Deputy Sheriff, a Police Officer, a Volunteer Firefighter, and a security guard. Some people often called him things like Mentor, Counselor, Sir, Mr. Taylor, Mr. Roy, but to Jamie he was simply “Dad”.
Roy spent his remaining days doing exactly what he enjoyed doing; mowing the yard, front porch sitting, listening to nature, eating ice cream, and the simple conversation from someone who loved him so dearly. If you like I can provide the last photo of his time on earth. -Jamie
Roy is survived by his son; Jamie Taylor, his grandchildren; Kirah Anne Taylor and Tristan Royal Taylor. He also left behind a multitude of step children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who loved him dearly. To those that knew him, remember the giggle…
There are no services planned, per Mr. Taylor's wishes.
