Hands on Saves Lives

When performing CPR, it is essential to keep your hands on the patient’s chest while allowing for complete chest recoil. The American Heart Association emphasizes CCF or Chest Compression Fraction at 60% or ideally 80%. This means that interruptions in chest compression should be 10 seconds or less in a period of 60 seconds. Interruptions should be limited to rhythm analysis while using an AED or manual defibrillator; breathes during bag mask ventilations and pulse checks.
