I’m not sure exactly what to say. I’m sorry, my ancestors are the reason this is happening, my race is the reason for this problem and many don’t want to see it or fix it. I’m sorry. That doesn’t make it better. Sorry means you won’t do it again. And I make you a promise, that I’ll do all I can to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
I’m sorry for the system that makes you feel less than and not loved. I’m sorry for a system that makes it hard for you every step of the way. I’m sorry, it’s not your fault. It is my fault, white peoples’ fault.
Changes need to happen: schools need to get funding equally(I know about this personally as a former teacher) applications need to all have a fair shot no matter the name, purchasing needs to be based off of facts not color, police brutality must end and we must not stand for it anymore.
We need to demand these changes not simply suggest them.
I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry. I do not know what it is like in your shoes, I never will. Know I’m with you and will fight next to you until changes happen.
