Art Therapy Workshops are back! Today we'll delve into safe places and calming retreats via mixed media collages that evoke a sense of calm and peace. Think of it as a way to remind yourself of the things, places, and people that bring you back to equilibrium when life's anxieties get too heavy. Check out the list of upcoming workshops, and reserve your spot for February when we'll be making Fairy Boxes. Taking place on Valentine's Day, it's the perfect activity for singles and couples alike.

Art Therapy Workshops are back for 2026, starting this Saturday, January 10th, from 12-3pm! We'll be making mixed media Safe Place Collages. Be it a vibe, a place, or a combination of many things, your safe place is a space where worries disappear and you can use the images as a focus for reducing the mental clutter that comes with anxiety. Join me at the Rara Avis Therapeutics offices for a time of gentle reflection on what makes you feel safe and secure. Cost is $50 and all supplies are included.

Changes have been made to the Rara Avis Therapeutics Art Therapy Workshop schedule! Due to surgery scheduled for mid-February, I have removed the Howl's Moving Castle and DIY Mythological Creatures workshops from the first half of 2025. These workshops will be rescheduled for the second half of the year.

Workshops are limited to 6-8 participants, depending on the project, and costs generally include supplies unless otherwise noted. Contact me at droberts@raraavistherapeutics.com to reserve a spot!

My next art therapy workshop is brought to you by the letter "R". There is something about drawing on black paper that brings revelation, relaxation, and release, and it is that catharsis we will be focusing on in my "Big Feelings, Black Paper" workshop. Using oil pastels on black paper and a trio of drawing techniques (scribbles, free drawing, and mandalas), we will explore and process the big feelings that accompany this time of year, including expectations, overwhelm, and anxiety. Join me on Saturday, January 25th, from 12-3 pm at the Rara Avis Therapeutics offices in Brandon, FL. Cost is $65 and all supplies are included. Rescheduled from December! Gnomes for the Holidays Workshop! Join me this Saturday as I walk you through creating these cheerful little gnomes that double as heating pods. Good for direct heat applications for sore and tired muscles, sinus discomfort, and cold hands, just pop them in the microwave for a bit to have your own little gnomish heating buddy! Workshop participants will also create alternate, non-holiday, outfits for their gnomes to use throughout the year. Cost is $25, and you can come any time between 12 and 4 pm on Saturday, Jan. 11th. At the Rara Avis Therapeutics offices in Brandon, FL.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, the Gnomes for the Holidays workshop is cancelled. The building is closed to all traffic due to the city's Christmas parade, so I will reschedule it for some time in the new year. I apologize for any inconvenience due to this (very) last-minute cancellation.
