💸 No Tax on Tips:

If you work a tipped job (like a restaurant server, bartender, hairstylist, hotel worker, etc.), here’s some good news:

From 2025 through 2028, you can lower your federal taxes by deducting your tips.

What that means in real life:
• ✅ You can deduct up to $25,000 of tips each year
• ✅ This only applies if you report your tips (on your W-2, 1099, or Form 4137)
• ✅ It lowers the income you pay taxes on (it’s a deduction, not free money)

Who qualifies?
• You work in a job where tipping is normal
• You make under $150,000 a year (or $300,000 if married & filing together)
• If you’re self-employed, the deduction can’t be more than what you actually earned from that job

Important things to know:
• 📄 You must report your tips — unreported cash tips don’t count
• ⏰ There’s also a separate deduction for overtime pay (extra hours only)
• 🗓️ This is temporary — it only applies to tax years 2025–2028
• 🏛️ Some states may also remove state taxes on tips, but that depends on where you live

Bottom line:
If you’re young and working a tipped job, reporting your tips can now save you money at tax time instead of costing you more.
