Hey Folks:

A message from CT DPH:

Dear Licensee,

Due to a potential healthcare workforce strain from the COVID 19 situation, the Commissioner of Public Health has signed the attached order that allows specified practitioners licensed in another state to work in Connecticut without obtaining a Connecticut license for up to 60 days. There are no forms to complete or any type of notification to the Department required.

PLEASE NOTE: Out-of-state practitioners will be unable to prescribe controlled substances until there is an Executive Order specific to prescribing controlled substances under these circumstances.

This order does not impact you as a licensee since you hold a Connecticut license. However, please feel free to share this information with colleagues licensed in other states who may be willing to come to Connecticut to assist during this time if needed.

Practitioners interested in volunteering services (licensed in Connecticut or out of state) may register online here: https://ctresponds.ct.gov.

Thank you and please stay safe.

COVID-19 Precautions

Everyone should follow these 5 Steps to prepare for COVID-19:

1. Stay home when you are feeling sick;
2. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially before you eat;
3. Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue and discard in a closed container;
4. Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects; and
5. Practice “social distancing”: Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Keep a distance of at least 6 feet to help slow the spread of COVID-19

In times like this, we ALL feel the impact. If you start feeling anxious or depressed, please know there is help for you out there. Contact a local health care professional. Many of us have the ability to assist you at this time from the safety and security of your own home, via online counseling services.

Thank you. Be kind and remain well.
