Today, Ct Hospice celebrates the first African American Nurse, Mary Eliza Mahoney. Born in 1846 in Boston, Mary Eliza knew she wanted to become a nurse from the time she was teen. It was her pursuit of gaining equality for African Americans and women that motivated her to become the first African American Nurse. We thank Mary Eliza Mahoney for her compassion, persistence and contributions to the nursing field.

GREAT NEWS! chose Ct Hospice as a national grant winner from organizations across the country to receive their Family Respite Care Grant.

As the incidence of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias increases nationally, the majority of care provided to people with the disease is by unpaid family members. Research indicates that these responsibilities increase the risk of illness and mortality for the caregiver, and earlier institutionalization for the person living with dementia. Ct Hospice will use theses funds to help suppor

Today's amazing view at Connecticut Hospice is the sighting of a magnificent bald eagle, checking the water for fish, and perching in a tall tree. February is the these majestic birds congregate along resevioirs, rivers, and coastal areas in preparation for laying eggs in late February - early March. Mother Nature is AMAZING.
