If we really think about it, we are truly blessed, aren’t we? One thing I’m thankful for is you!

Here are a few tips to keep in mind today as you get your stuffing on…

šŸ§‹It’s better to only have small sips during your meal. More than that might impact digestion.
šŸƒšŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø Don’t rush. Be sure to chew your food well before swallowing - almost to a mushy consistency .
😬 Eating when you are stressed can also impact digestion. Try to relax.

I’m sharing this post from last year about Seasonal Affective Disorder. If this is something you deal with, what have you tried to help?

Many people suffer from this condition during the winter months. It can result in depression or feeling sleepier than usual, as a result of having less sunlight.
One of the best things you can do is go outside when you can. Be sure to open those blinds or pull back the curtains to let the sunlight in! There are also lights called "happy lights" and even an alarm clock with a light that simulates dawn light. Essential oils have also been found to be helpful for mood support.

Do you use any health and wellness tools? This could be anything from a red light device to a vibration plate. Do you have your eye on any device that might be on sale? Maybe something to ask Santa for?
I think I’ll start compiling my list…

I’m sharing this post from two years ago but it’s still just as relevant today.

Digestion
Sleep
Pain
Breathing

These are just some of the ways that our emotions can have an impact on our health.

We know it’s important to deal with and process our emotions, but how? You’ll find some techniques you’re already very familiar with, and probably might not even associate them with your emotions.

Diet and nutritional support. Ahhh yes, that pesky ā€œdā€ word again. And this is diet in terms of your way of eating, NOT a weight loss aspect.
Exercise. Don’t tune me out just yet!
Prayer and/or meditation.
Gratitude journaling.
Now these mentioned above are likely the ones you know about. But here are some additional techniques that can be very beneficial: acupuncture, tapping, homeopathy, Bach Flower Essences, Braintap and releasing trapped emotions.

As you can see, there are many options for supporting your emotional health and wellness. The key is to find what works for you. Back to the analogy of the stuffing. Leftovers are great, for a day or two. Then they become unappetizing and might even be harmful if eaten. The same could be said for our emotions. The more we suppress them and live in a constant state of stress (or any other emotion), they can start to fester and become harmful.

Stay tuned for some tips to manage that stuffing…

Eating seasonally is about more than what foods are available at the store. For example, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, in the winter, our meals should be heavier and incorporate foods that are warming, which helps insulate and protect our bodies from the cold. In the summer, our meals tend to be lighter and cooling.
Foods that are warming can also be beneficial for spleen health.
So when the weather starts cooling off and you find yourself craving hearty soups, this could be why.
