Don’t forget: Life is what you make of it.
You get to DECIDE that things are, ultimately, working out for you, no matter the circumstances you’re swimming in.
When you catch yourself spiraling into a negative mindset, practice noticing this as a choice.
You simply have some momentum going in that direction, nothing more.
How to shift it?
Be KIND to yourself, adjust your self talk to SOOTHE yourself, rather than beat up on yourself.
Then choose differently.
Reach for for a better feeling thought, one thought at a time.

Your mindset matters. ✨
So does the perspective you CHOOSE to take.
When you know what “waters your grass” and what doesn’t, what you have is a guide to living your BEST life.
Be kind to yourself when you notice your grass is getting dry and then go find some water.
It really can be as simple as that!
I find that new creative endeavors can be a reset for my mindset & perspective.
Ruby and I spent part of the afternoon yesterday, in the sunshine, collecting rocks to paint.
I felt incredible afterwards and I’m so looking forward to painting them!☀️

Before you know it, Quarantine 2020 will be nothing more than a memory that STILL feels surreal when we recount it.
The days may be blending into each other & the tasks may be repetitive (why is it ALWAYS time to cook dinner again??), but the time is passing just as it always does.
It feels a lot like having kids: the days are long, but the years are short.
Don’t pressure yourself to “finally write that novel” or “deep clean the entire house” simply because you think you SHOULD now that you have this “time.”
Instead, consider using some of this time to practice getting QUIET.
LISTEN to the longings buried deep within the “noise” of your former life.
It is in the quiet where you will hear what is TRULY important to you.
And isn’t THAT what matters most?
When I get quiet lately, I realize how much I am longing for a more consistent connection to SOURCE and my TRUST in life always working out for me.

Why listen to your HEART over your BRAIN?
As the human body develops, in utero, the heart starts beating and pumping blood around the 3-week mark, but the brain isn't close to fully developed until week 33.
What can we learn from this exquisite design?
Your heart is a CRUCIAL part of your life experience.
You see, your brain is designed to "think" about all the things that could go wrong, to "warn" you about things you might need to "prepare" for.
While your heart is there to keep you connected to your VITALITY.
So, remember this, today.
When your brain gets busy with all the what-ifs...
Pause, place one hand on your heart, one hand on your belly.
And BREATHE.
Feel that sense of aliveness.
APPRECIATE all this is going RIGHT for you now.
Your blood pumping, the earth continuing to spin upon its axis, the abundance of air for you to breathe, that song you love, and anything else you become reminded of...

Fear is contagious.
But so is love, my beautiful friends. ✨
Remember this.
I encourage you to spend every possible moment, during this time of intense change and upheaval, connecting with your own sense of WELL-BEING and RESILIENCY.
I've been back and forth in myself, my nervous system feeling like a rickety roller coaster ride at times, but I promise myself to keep coming back to LOVE.
We can always choose LOVE.
Through deep breaths, a visit with friends/family over ZOOM, a group text thread filled with belly laughs, a good cry, or simply a reminder that this too, shall pass.
When you feel FEAR creeping in, take notice.
It's just a form of energy and you can invite it to...
Keep.
On.
Moving.
When all that energy moves out of the container of your body, what you are left with is LOVE, sweet, feels-so-good love.
And ONLY good will come from that. ✨
