Excess tension in your pelvic floor? Try this gentle yet potent release. Feels so good. Move as slowly as you need to, sinking in as desired. Remember to breathe!

Pain pain pain - we’ve all got it some times! I’ve been diving deep into the neuroscience around pain (yes I’m a nerd and yes this is what I do in my spare time 🤓😂)

The beauty is - bodywork, breathwork, movement are all excellent ways to reduce pain and repattern how your body perceives sensation.

I realized I was doing this in my own body a little while back. I’ve long worked barefoot but then I was having a lot of fatigue during work and my feet were always sore. I wanted to “push through” because being “barefoot” was so “good for me” lol. And I just pushed it aside…..until it dawned on me that I didn’t have to live in discomfort all the time - for what?!
So now I have memory foam cozy fur lined booties to treat myself right and it’s made such a difference!

How often do you push through, ignore your body - treat it as inconvenient?

In my own personal and professional journey I’ve come to learn a LOT about the nervous system and how it functions.
As a bodyworker and movement teacher- esp one that specializes in pelvic floor and core rehab - it’s become clear that the NS is the main driver when it comes to pain, postural patterns, and even the choices we make.

The shift you feel when you receive a massage is your nervous system shifting gears from sympathetic to parasympathetic - your brain waves also contribute to this as well as other rhythms in your body.

What pace would allow you to move with presence - to feel your body, to be in the moment? We will explore this through movement and breath in my upcoming class on 2/24.
It’s on zoom intentionally - being in you own home is often where we feel most comfortable and rooted. And experiencing and exploring tools that help us feel states of coherence in familiar places is a great way to give our systems new info.
Would love to have you there ❤️

Interventions can be great and often necessary - we all need tools of self healing and ways to handle what arises. Often, however, when in pain it can be easy to feel urgent to “fix” or get out of the sensation present. This tends to reinforce patterns of survival and stress, however.
Learning to be with symptoms and sensations is how we actually begin to unravel their hold on us & how we build a baseline of safety so we can use interventions intentionally.

Your nervous system has a huge say in tissue state. Yes sometimes and some people benefit from deeper pressure - it’s really all so individual - but when people are dealing with chronic stress and chronic tension - it is the nervous system that needs support more than the tissues need a certain tool or technique.

01/10/2026

Especially if you deal with chronic pain, hyper mobility , autoimmune flare ups or hyper vigilance and chronic stress - there can often be high self awareness with low self presence. Try these moves to help establish a sense of peace, support and comfort in your body.

Your body/brain doesn’t know the difference between what is said to it from an external vs an internal source…but your cells are listening. I love all the new research coming out about the body mind connection - validating what many healing traditions have known for a loooooong time.

About

The more relaxed and nourished the body becomes, the more unraveled the nervous system can be. The more unwound the nervous system is, the more we can embody emotional and physical wellness and balance throughout all of life’s ups and downs.

Bodywork is an excellent way to nourish the body and ‘unwind’ the nervous system. Our bodies are miraculous vessels that perform wondrous feats and hold space for life to be felt, experienced and expressed. We all have a blueprint of wellness - our bodies are self healing organisms - and both massage and reiki assist the body’s natural processes of healing and regeneration.

In a massage session, I tune into your body's rhythm and am intuitively guided to utilize the right flow and techniques to offer your muscles the greatest release and your mind and soul a chance to unwind and 'synch' into a deep state of dream-like relaxation.

I became attuned to Reiki Master in 2010 and Master/Teacher in 2012 and graduated from a 650 Hr holistic massage program in 2012 from SpaTech Institute in Plymouth. In 2013, I completed a 2 year herbal medicine apprenticeship with the Gaia School of Healing. Since then, I have consistently practiced and served hundreds of people providing skilled, ethical and compassionate bodywork. It's my honor and joy to offer this service and to earn your trust with each appointment.
