Have you ever put on a new pair of glasses & immediately said, "something isn't right with this prescription" 🤓
You actually see with your brain, so adjusting to new glasses is primarily a neurological event. There can be an adjustment period, especially if it has been years since changing your prescription or you're new to wearing bifocals.
👓It's important to wear your new prescription for a full 2 weeks before requesting any changes.
👓Do not go back and forth between your old & new glasses.
👓Reduce strenuous eye activities such as long term reading, extended screen time, etc.
👓Ensure your cornea is healthy by using artifical tears throughout the day.

April is Women's Eye Health Month. Women are more likely than men to develop age related macular degeneration. 👓 Women have a longer life expectancy than men so they are more likely to reach the age where the disease is most prevalent. 👓 Declining estrogen levels post menopause are thought to contribute to retinal weakening. 👓 Women are more susceptible to autoimmune diseases, which may increase inflammation associated with macular degeneration.
