Inside Out Recovery

Inside Out Recovery A participative, transitional housing facility that provides recovery support services to people with substance abuse and life-controlling issues

Wrong choices can leave painfully deep wounds filled with broken dreams and shattered lives, but no matter the size of the wounds or the depth of the pain, there is hope. At Inside Out Recovery we are not ashamed of our scars, wounds, or failures because we believe that God can cause them to be a source of strength and understanding as we quit telling ourselves lies and embrace honesty with oursel

ves and others. Inside Out Recovery is a Christ-centered transitional housing option for people in recovery who have already completed an inpatient drug or alcohol rehabilitation program or has been released from prison. Inside Out Recovery is exclusively for people in recovery, all of whom have similar goals of maintaining sobriety and a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. This will provide each resident with the support of like-minded people, making recovery more of a group effort than an individual effort.

Happy Easter!

Today we celebrate more than a moment in history, we celebrate a living hope.

Jesus didn’t just rise then, He is alive now, bringing new beginnings, fresh starts, and real freedom.

No matter where you’ve been or what you’re carrying, this day is a reminder that nothing is beyond redemption.

The stone was rolled away, and with it, the weight of our past.

This is your moment.
This is your new beginning.

He is risen… and hope is alive.

Prison ministry matters because people matter.

Behind prison walls are real men with real stories, real failures, real regrets, and real pain. Many of them have made serious mistakes. Many have hurt others and hurt themselves. But they are still human beings, and they are still people that Jesus loves.

That is why we go.

We do not go because sin does not matter. We go because grace does. We do not go to excuse the past. We go because we believe Jesus still changes lives. We go because no prison cell is too dark for the light of Christ. We go because no one is beyond the reach of God.

Some of the men we meet feel forgotten. Some feel ashamed. Some feel like their life is over. Some have never had anyone consistently show up for them. And yet, when the Word of God is opened, when truth is spoken, when hope is offered, something begins to happen. Hearts begin to soften. Walls begin to come down. Men begin to believe that maybe their story is not over after all.

That is the power of prison ministry.

It is standing in a hard place and declaring that Jesus is still Savior, still Redeemer, and still able to make all things new.

We have seen men broken by addiction, anger, guilt, and poor choices begin to rebuild their lives through Christ. We have seen men begin to pray, worship, grow, and take responsibility. We have seen men who once felt worthless begin to understand that God still has a purpose for them.

Prison ministry reminds people of something this world often forgets: a person’s worst moment does not have to define their whole life.

Please pray for the men behind bars. Pray for open hearts. Pray for protection. Pray for truth to take root. And pray that we will continue to carry the hope of Jesus into places where hope can be hard to find.

"I was in prison and you came to visit me."
Matthew 25:36

When “I Know” and “I Want” Collide

Anxiety often begins to rise when what we know we should do and what we want to do are in conflict.

We know the right step.

But something in us wants a different one.

And that inner tension starts building.

We feel unsettled.
Restless.
Heavy.
Pulled in two directions.

I believe a lot of anxiety starts right there, in that place of inner conflict.

When truth is pulling one way, and desire is pulling another, peace begins to slip away.

It is like pressing the gas and the brake at the same time.
Everything starts to shake.

Maybe you know you need to let something go, but part of you still wants to hold onto it.

Maybe you know you need to forgive, but you do not want to.

Maybe you know you need to walk away from something unhealthy, but your emotions keep pulling you back.

That battle on the inside is real.

The Apostle Paul described that struggle well:

“For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do, this I keep on doing.”
Romans 7:19

Sometimes anxiety is more than stress.
Sometimes it is a signal that something inside us is out of alignment.

The answer is not just to calm the feeling.

The answer is to bring the conflict to God.

To be honest and say:

“Lord, I know what is right, but my heart is struggling.”

That is where healing begins.

Peace starts to return when our heart, mind, and actions come back into alignment with God’s truth.

You may not feel the right thing immediately.
But when you begin choosing the right thing, God can begin changing what you want.

That is how peace starts to grow.

If you are in that place today, torn between what you know and what you want, take heart.

You are not alone.

Bring that struggle into the light.
Bring it to God.
And trust Him to help you through the conflict within.

This Sunday we’re going to be in John 12:20–36, and it starts with one of the most honest requests in the whole Bible:

“Sir, we would like to see Jesus.” (John 12:21)

That’s the cry of a searching heart. Not, “Show me religion.” Not, “Fix my image.” Not, “Help me look good.” Just, “I need Jesus.”

In this passage, Jesus answers in a surprising way. He points to the cross, and He says real life comes through surrender, like a seed that falls into the ground and dies, then produces a harvest. What looks like loss becomes life. What feels buried is not forgotten. God does His best work underground before you ever see the fruit.

Jesus also says He is the Light, and He calls us to stop living in the shadows and walk in the light while we have it. If you’ve been tired, stuck, ashamed, or just worn down from trying to carry everything yourself, this message is for you.

Come expecting to see Jesus, not just hear about Him.

This Sunday, we’re in John 12:1–19, a powerful moment where two scenes fade into one story:

The Fragrance of Worship (Mary pouring out what’s most valuable at Jesus’ feet)

The King on a Donkey (Jesus entering Jerusalem… not on a war horse, but in humility)

And right in the middle is a question we all have to answer:

Am I pouring my life out for Jesus… or am I standing back criticizing?

Am I following the crowd… or surrendering to the King?

In this passage, we see:

Mary’s extravagant worship (a love that doesn’t count the cost)

Judas’ criticism (with his spiritual-sounding excuses that hide a heart issue)

A cheering crowd (with loud praise that can fade when Jesus doesn’t meet their expectations)

Jesus, the true King—moving steadily toward the cross for our salvation

If you’ve ever felt like your past disqualifies you, or you’re tired of fake faith and shallow hype, this message is for you. Jesus still brings people from the tomb to the table… and He’s worthy of everything we’ve got.

Come worship with us this Sunday. Bring someone who needs hope.

Rugged Cross Tree Service did an outstanding job removing two trees at Inside Out Recovery.

From start to finish, their team was professional, prompt, and safety-focused, with clear communication and a strong work ethic you do not see every day.

They showed up prepared, handled the removals efficiently.

It was obvious they knew exactly what they were doing, and they treated our facility and grounds with care and respect the whole time.

If you need reliable, skilled tree work done right, we highly recommend Rugged Cross Tree Service for your tree service needs.

Celebrate Recovery is this Tuesday night, 7–9 PM, and we’re jumping into Lesson 4: Sanity.

So many of us have tried to “think our way out” of what we’ve been living through, only to end up right back in the same cycles.

This lesson is a reminder that real change starts when we stop trusting ourselves to fix what we can’t, and we start trusting God to restore what’s been broken.

If you’re tired, stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready for something different, come join us. You don’t have to have it all together, you just have to show up.

Snow Day Challenge: ACCEPTED ☃️😄

We had a fun-filled snow day today, and yes… somebody decided it was a great idea to run outside in shorts and make snow angels. 😂❄️

Was it cold? Absolutely.
Was it worth it? 100%.

Did we laugh way too hard? You already know.
Sometimes you just have to embrace the moment, act like a kid again, and make a memory.

Alright, your turn: would you do the “shorts + snow angels” challenge or are you staying inside with hot chocolate? 👇🔥☕️

Danny Kupke,

Congratulations on three years of sobriety!

That’s a huge milestone, and it speaks to your courage, your perseverance, and the daily choices you’ve made to keep moving forward.

Three years isn’t just time on a calendar, it’s three years of showing up, doing the work, and refusing to go back to the life that tried to take you out. Your story is proof that freedom is possible, and your life is an encouragement to everyone who’s still fighting for their next right step.

I’m proud of you, Danny. Keep going. One day at a time, God is still writing your story.

With respect and gratitude.
