I am a physical therapist, myofascial release therapist, burn scar massage therapist, yoga teacher, exercise scientist, personal trainer, and group exercise leader. Here I am practicing my first Pilates class truly to myself. When you take a course/class at the gym or on the tv, these instructors have put in a lot of time and thought to get the right exercises and words to make your class special. This is my first attempt. Thank recorded it so that you may “enjoy” what Pilates entails as well as get in a seated exercise class. Please remember to do only what feels right for you. I know many people are purchasing exercise equipment like I did. However, my wrists were cramping and my upper arms were getting sore. This was recommended to me. It’s a life saver. I tried to block my equipment for the photo since I want to plug the foam padding instead. Others used pool noodles with great success also. I hope it helps some of you.

Good morning! Today, let’s get our seated workout in with some “80’s music”. Why is that in quotation marks? Well...if you listen VERY carefully, you might recognize the song but to be allowed to be played online, it had to be altered. I am not sure how I felt about the songs but a good cardio workout was had. Good morning! More research is showing that dancing helps with Parkinson’s disorders and dementia (and is plain old fun). So, polish off your “dancing” shoes, grab a countertop or back of the chair for support to use as needed and come practice your box step and Charleston moves with me. Of course, we break down the moves and laugh sometimes more than dance. Please, however, listen to your doctor and your own body and do what is right and safe for you.
