Ladies in crafts made these flowers out of mason jar lids, fabric, and ribbon. We added a little bee embellishment to make them even cuter. Nice little door hangers, a quick and easy autumn project.

Sherman Library and Gardens is a favorite place to go on our summer outings. We just loved seeing all the wonderful varieties of plants and the artistic designs of the gardens. Sherman Library and Gardens has been deeply rooted in the community since 1966. It was founded by Arnold Haskell and named for his friend and mentor Moses Hazeltine Sherman. The display gardens feature seasonal varieties bursting with color, textures, and fragrance. Residents enjoy touring through the different gardens.

In celebration of the anniversary of Woodstock, our residents created their own tie-dye tees in art class this week. We all had a great time and kept the spirit of 1969 alive and well here with peace, love, and good vibes all around.

All aboard for the Southern Pacific Division Model Train Expo! Annette and her train club friends have transformed our library into a miniature wonderland. From tiny towns to winding tracks, it's a delightful ride.

Brookdale Brea loves to offer intergenerational activities, and this week we had Arts & Crafts Rock Painting for our gardens and Diamond Arts w/Brea High School. The students were so helpful and fun with the interaction and our residents.

Georgia turned 99 this week! Brookdale Brea loves to celebrate special occasions and this was a tribute to beautiful lady who brightens all of our days with her smile. Happy birthday, Georgia!

Our residents have been preparing for our annual Luau for months. They created decorations, and they practiced a 15-minute dance pre-show for the families' and residents' amusement. All the hard work was so worth it; we had a wonderful day! Pictured below is our group and Alohi's Dancers. We're so proud of all the residents who put in so much effort; it was a blast.

Crunch time for our crafters. We are working on decorations for our luau this weekend. The ladies worked on these latest projects to decorate and have a fun time with. They are awesome cut glass mosaic projects: two turtles, one flamingo, and five pineapples to decorate.
