Our brunch was a big success this month with lots of family joining our fun Oktoberfest themed brunch. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the fellowship.

Our residents have been getting into the spirit of the season with some festive fall arts and crafts! From painting autumn leaves to creating cozy decorations for their doors, creativity was in full swing. Laughter filled the room as everyone shared memories of past fall seasons, all while enjoying the beautiful colors of the season coming to life in their artwork.

Autumn is a time to enjoy the simple things in life, and we took a trip to Irvine Regional Park for a Picnic Lunch and a walk through the haunted house, a romp around the pumpkin patch, followed by a trip to the Zoo, where we saw beautiful parrots. We also saw a brown bear and a brown owl, among lots of other animals. We ended our trip to the zoo at the Petting Zoo, brushing the goats. There was so much to see and so much fun to be had.

Brookdale Brea offered an Oktoberfest celebration featuring the talents of Nathalie, who, with her accordion, took us all over the world with fun music. Beer and Bavarian-style pretzels were served and lots of singing and dancing. Everyone had a blast.

Brookdale Brea offers fun, afternoon events to share with outside guests to show off our lovely community. This week we offered a fantastic spread provided by our dining team. "Board to Bite" was the theme and everyone had a blast.

The Hilbert Museum in Orange, CA is one of our favorite outings as it is very senior friendly and easy to navigate. We all enjoyed the water color and pastels exhibit as well as the antique radios and fun Disney art.

Assisted Living Week has begun at Brookdale Brea with a large carnival! There were games, a dunk tank, face painting, a caricature artist, and a photo booth. There was a jazz band and awesome carnival-style snacks, from corn dogs, spiced fries, sliders, deep-fried Oreos, Cotton Candy and snow cones. Residents and families can not stop talking about how much fun they had!

Ladies in crafts made these flowers out of mason jar lids, fabric, and ribbon. We added a little bee embellishment to make them even cuter. Nice little door hangers, a quick and easy autumn project.

Pine cones are plentiful in our area, so we decided to make some fun art door decor out of some we collected on a nature walk. We think they are pretty clever.
