Happy 42nd Anniversary, CIS! 🎉
Founded by Dr. Craig Walker in Houma in 1983, CIS has grown into a world leader in cardiovascular care with 23 locations across Louisiana and Mississippi, more than 60 physicians, and over 1,000 dedicated team members. This year, we celebrated our anniversary by honoring team members marking 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and even 40 years of service! Congratulations to Dr. Walker, our incredible team, and thank you to our patients, partners, and supporters for believing in our mission. Here’s to another year of excellence!

Today, CIS and Terrebonne General Health System made history by performing their 1,000th TAVR procedure! Congratulations to Dr. Peter Fail, Dr. Shane Prejean, Dr. Donald Netherland, and Dr. Deborah McCollum, and the entire team on achieving this milestone. The transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure treats severe aortic stenosis using a minimally invasive, catheter-based approach to replace the diseased valve—without the need for open-heart surgery. Aortic stenosis occurs when the aortic valve doesn’t open properly, preventing the heart from effectively pumping blood to the rest of the body.
