World Day of the Sick was introduced as a way for believers to offer prayers for those suffering from illnesses. This year's theme is "The compassion of the Samaritan: loving by bearing another's pain". We invite you to take a moment, a breath, and use it to offer a prayer, thought, or kind word to those experiencing illness and pain. Pray for the family members, friends, and health care workers who stand by their side, as did the Samaritan. We are called to foster healing and defend human dignity, now more than ever.

St. Josephine Bakhita is the patroness of trafficking survivors. She was a victim of violent trafficking until she found solace and refuge in the Canossian Sisters of Charity. She became a novice, took her voice as a Canossian nun, and become a comforting presence to those who would knock on the door seeking aid.
This , we urge you to reflect on how you may be called to loosen the chains of others and on the actions you can take to help survivors, following the example of St. Josephine Bakhita.

The Catholic Health Association stands united with other organizations in efforts to end human trafficking, raise awareness, and defend human dignity. Visit our resources and more at https://hubs.li/Q042bm5C0

The 60th World Day of Social Communications theme is 'Preserving Human Voices and Faces', a call to action in a time when artificial intelligence floods algorithms and fills human gaps. In his message, Pope Leo XIV states, "Faces and voices are sacred', so how can we protect these God-given qualities in a time when they can be digitally replicated?

As communities across the country confront difficult and painful events, many are feeling the weight of uncertainty and division.
As our nation navigates the challenges before us, we pause to pray for all who are suffering, all who are working for healing, and all who carry the responsibility of leading with courage and integrity.

For those hurt by violence
for families who have lost loved ones
and for all who suffer physical injury
Loving God, be for them a steady comfort,
a source of healing,
and a safe resting place.
We pray,
God of Peace, send us your Spirit.

Let us be witnesses to your goodness,
that we may be witnesses to peace
in our daily interactions
and advocates for peace in our world.
We pray,
God of Peace, send us your Spirit.

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you! There was a Sasquatch sighting at CommonSpirit Health Hospital in Seattle. The hairy humanoid was seen visiting Ray George, who often gifted "Sasquatch Cancer" figurines while receiving treatment for pancreatic cancer.

The big-footed visit was organized by George's medical team, special effects artists, and the Seattle Kraken National Hockey League team to deliver joy to Ray, whose kindness has encouraged many going through treatment.
