Inner Wild Nutrition

Inner Wild Nutrition Welcome to Inner Wild Nutrition! My name is Uriell and I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and I help cyclists, runners, and skiers know what to eat.

Uriell is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and owner of Whole Life Breck. She studied at Bastyr University in Seattle and then completed her dietetic internship with Utah State University during which she worked in a variety of clinical, community and food service nutrition settings throughout Colorado. Uriell’s passion for nutrition began while growing up on her family’s organic farm in Vermon

t. Upon moving to Breckenridge in 2007 she found that nutrition and questions regarding food and health were a common topic of conversation among friends and fellow athletes and she wanted to find a way to be able to answer those questions. Today, Uriell’s nutrition practice focuses on incorporating whole foods nutrition with sustainable goals that will help you achieve whole body health and wellness for a lifetime. Specialties include weight loss, sports and performance nutrition and chronic disease prevention or management. Uriell’s favorite part of her job is that her “work” is as much a part of her personal life as it is her professional life. Beyond Whole Life Breck, she can be found working at Whole Foods in Frisco, experimenting with new recipes in her kitchen, or outside either trail running, split boarding or training for her upcoming mountain bike race season. Uriell welcomes all ages and is open to discuss any nutritional interests you may have.

So many of the athletes I work with come to me having done everything right — the training, the consistency, the hard work.

😩And they’re still falling apart during long efforts.

⛽️ Nine times out of ten it’s not their fitness letting them down. It’s their fuel.

☝️These are the 4 questions I ask first

Send this to a training buddy who’s putting in the work + deserves to see it pay off 👊

Finishing everything on your plate isn’t the flex we were taught it was.

Eating past fullness doesn’t save food — it just moves where the waste ends up.

🌿 Your body knows when it’s had enough. That’s not waste, that’s wisdom.

🚮What’s an old food rule you’re ready to ditch? Drop it in the comments.

Recovery doesn’t stop when the workout ends

😴Your body does some of its best repair work overnight — especially for endurance recovery.

🧇 A small snack with protein + carbs before bed can help support that process and keep energy steady.

👆Swipe for 3 simple combos that actually work. And, no, there are no rules that say you can’t eat after 8pm. If you need the fuel, you can eat it anytime. The more important detail is to make sure you’re getting what you need and ensure that you’re balancing out your snacks with protein + complex carbs.

What’s your go-to recovery snack? Drop it below!

The thing about long rides is that it’s much more likely you’re going to get tired of the same thing over and over again, so variety is key!

‼️You’re also going to get hungry - so only carbs doesn’t cut it

Fueling right isn’t about eating less or eating perfect.

It’s about giving your body exactly what it needs to perform, recover, and thrive — in sport and in life.
These athletes trusted the process. They showed up. And their bodies showed up for them in ways they never expected.

When a gel just won’t cut it, or when you have to rely on resupply to get more carbs in - these 3 options will do the job!

If you deal with reflux, bloating, or just don’t feel great after eating — this one’s for you.

🌿 The truth is, so many of these symptoms can be linked back to how well you support your body’s natural ability to digest food.

✨And sometimes the fix is simpler than you think — think chewing your food properly, getting enough fiber, and staying hydrated throughout the day.

Craving sugar isn’t a bad habit - it’s a sign from your body that you’re missing something

So, when my clients tell me things like:
“I’m addicted to sugar”
“I can’t stop eating carbs”
“I’m binging on carbs at night”
“I can’t have it or I’ll eat it all”
…we have to get down to the root cause and figure out what’s wrong in the first place. Once we make sure you’re getting the carbs you need, in the right amounts, at the right times, these “cravings” often dissipate & you become the one that’s in control 👏
