❓Why would you treat SCM?
❓What are the safety risks?
❓How do make a patient comfortable with you treating a muscle in the front of their neck with a needle?
All good questions!
➡️SCM is a major player in headaches, TMD, vestibular dysfunction, sternoclavicular and acromioclavicular dysfunction.
➡️Crossing the muscle is the external jugular and a number of important nerves. Just medial and posterior to the muscle lies the carotid artery. And inferior to it lies the lungs. All things you would want to steer clear of with your needle.
👊Learn the safest, most comfortable way to needle SCM on an upcoming Beyond Foundations course.
