Traveling directly from low elevation to Colorado’s high country (9,600 feet above sea level) puts you at increased risk of Altitude Sickness.

However, there are several ways you can lower your risk. Here are seven of them:

1️⃣ Ascend slowly
2️⃣ Breathe oxygen upon arrival to high altitude
3️⃣ Breathe oxygen before and after strenuous activity
4️⃣ Breathe oxygen while sleeping
5️⃣ Eat healthy & nutritious food
6️⃣ Stay well hydrated
7️⃣ Avoid alcohol and energy drinks
