- What inspired you to start your journey with Orangetheory?
I joined OTF in April of 2022. I was not getting the results I wanted working out on my own. I wanted a gym that would keep me accountable to show up and a coach to tell me what to do.
- What keeps you coming back to the studio week after week?
The community -- At OTF we're all family! No matter my weight or ability, I always felt like I belonged.
- What has been the biggest change you've noticed since joining OTF?
When I first joined OTF my focus was getting into shape to have outside of OTF - I love to ski and mountain bike. In 2024, my focus shifted to changing my body composition. I increased my strength classes and with the help of my coaches started lifting heavier than I ever imagined. I can even do a proper full push up now! So my biggest change is how strong I've gotten - especially my shoulders, thanks design team, lol!
- What's your favorite part of the workout(or a favorite memory/event)?
I love that each coach gives their own flair to the workout. Coach Kelsey keeps me accountable. Coach Kayla will always correct my form. Coach Ben trains mind and body with space facts during the cool down. Coach Carrie pushes me on the weekends even if I'm tired from staying up too late. And my OG Coach Emma will empower me to overcome any negative thoughts and try my best.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about starting?
It's you vs you. It's okay to pick up lighter weights or use body weight when you're starting. It's okay to walk and not run (I'm actually a power walker). Take it one class at a time, be consistent, and you will see results.
