2 beautiful locations (with two more coming!)
1 awesome office manager.

My original intention remains the same: to offer licensed, clinical, ethical care while also paying therapists a wage that allows them to further their education, travel the world, purchase property and live their best possible lives.

What I didn't expect was growth that spanned beyond Carbon County. I also never expected to develop a powerhouse intern program that not only prepares emerging therapists for the working world but also allows for no-cost to low-cost care to those who cannot afford mental health services. It happened. And it's all good. Stay tuned for news on our client appreciation day-let's keep this celebration going!

Last year, one of my daughter's teachers advised his students to not "waste money on therapists" as long as ChatGPT was around. I will be sending him this article this week along with a letter asking him to STOP giving horrendous advice on a subject he knows nothing about.

ChatGPT will NEVER be a replacement for a live human therapist. Why? Because we actually care if you live or die. We worry about you and hope that you are ok. And we would NEVER offer options and/or instructions on how to end your life. As I have said to clients for years: "You have no right to take the life of another. And you have no right to take your own." Unlike a bot, we have a duty to keep you here.

Please talk to your children about the use of ChatGPT.

More people are turning to general-purpose chatbots for emotional support. At first, Adam Raine, 16, used ChatGPT for schoolwork, but then he started discussing plans to end his life.

In the last year, we've welcomed four very special clinicians who have made a profound difference in the lives of our clients. Sarah Rentz specializes in chronic illness and the compassionate care of those fighting cancer. Christine Holmfelt is an experienced Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist and PA for IFS trainings. Alise Shadle is piloting Virtual Reality with her pediatric clients, thanks to our connection with CatapalloVR, and Ilyse Garber is treating both physical and mental diagnosis as an experienced acupuncturist. Nickischer & Associates believes in integrative care. We do things differently, and it works.

You can do couples work with a therapist who specializes in partnership, but the majority of the work will take place outside of the office.

A first step involves being able to face your partner and ask if they are happy. Then challenge yourself to be brave enough to hold space for their response.

Healthy partnership is a long road of sharing and listening.

Two spots remain for my virtual intermediate IFS group, which runs for six Wednesdays, from 7:30-9pm EST, starting this week. This is for anyone who understands the basic tenants of IFS, or has worked with an IFS therapist. We are a compassionate group of humans. We typically start with meditation, then group processing, then small group experiential work.
