Rainy weather have your arthritis flaring up?🌧

Let's talk about why it happens and what you can do.

Why does this happen??
I'll tell you! Before it rains, there tends to be a decrease in barometric pressure. That means that there is less air pressure on your body which may allow your muscles and other tissues to expand. This difference in pressure causes the tissues around your joints to expand which can be painful for persons with arthritis or other musculoskeletal conditions.

So if I can't change the weather, what can I do??

Get a massage! Massage is beneficial (not the cure-all, as there isn't one) for alleviating the pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. Studies have shown that with regular massage therapy sessions in conjunction with staying hydrated and exercising, persons with arthritis noticed improvements with joint function, quality of sleep, and energy levels during the day as they are not only receiving the physical benefits of massage but also the mental and emotional benefits!
