‼️‼️‼️‼️SCAM ALERT‼️‼️‼️‼️
There is a scam going around all over the country again where scammers are calling people with missing pets and telling the owners that they are from a vet clinic and the pet is badly hurt/sick, that the clinic has them and will not administer emergency treatment without the owner paying first over the phone.
Yesterday, we had someone come into our clinic who experienced this. She stated that the scammer called from an unknown number, claimed that he was from our clinic, that the dog had been hit by a car, and that the owner was required to buy a voucher to pay for treatment to saved her dogs life. Also, that she wouldn't be able to come visit her pet in the hospital.
Luckily, she was suspicious of everything and came up to our clinic in person with the scammer still on the phone before they stole any money from her.
Please be aware that we will never ask for a voucher for payment or prevent you from seeing your pet while sick or injured, nor will we demand payment upfront in those situations.
If you encounter this scam, please do not pay them. Either call our clinic directly or come by the office.
These scammers are preying on people who desperately want their missing fur baby to be safe and healthy and to pay without question. Don't fall for it.
