Spinal joints, just like other joints in the body like your fingers, elbow, shoulders, etc. are supposed to move. If your fingers or elbow stopped moving, you would be rightfully concerned. Your spinal joints can become restricted or reduced in normal motion. When this happens, the nervous system is affected negatively. When this happens a person can experience pain in their spine, muscles can become tight and out of balance. This leads to mechanical stress and strain on the spinal joints and tissues, inflammation of the spinal joints and tissues, and then pain.
