It’s certainly a good idea to have a fueling and hydration plan for long-distance races—but also build in flexibility.

Fluid and energy needs are dynamic, and race does not always go as planned. 🥴

On the big day, factors such as your pace, weather, and how you feel will influence your actual needs.

💡 PRO TIP: Start by following your plan, but adjust your intake according to how you feel as the race progresses.

The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR)—fueled with confidence.

Steve is a seasoned cyclist and a masters athlete. He is certainly elite in terms of this accomplishment—but not your typical elite athlete profile.
